School History
In August 1946, the planning for a new branch of Xinjie Public School started. In December 1946, the Qingpu Branch of Xinjie Public School was officially established. In August 1949, a request for independent status was submitted, and that is how Qingpu Public School originated.
In September 1968, public education was expanded and the school’s name changed to Qingpu Elementary School. After serving the school for 60 years, the building had become old and was deemed a safety hazard. Therefore, to prevent conflicts with the students’ rights to safety, it was decided to bulid a new school construction of Phase I started in August 2015, which lasted until February 2018.
School Vision
Our vision is Hope, Happiness, Sense of Achievement. We aim to use the spirit of adaptive education to develop students’ multiple intelligences, cater to their needs, in order to cultivate their self-confidence and full potential. Besides offering them a stage to develop and demonstrate their capabilities, we also want to ensure that they’re learning in a happy way. As they realize their potential, they will have a sense of achievement. Our hope is that every student is hopeful and happy and moving toward their dream every day.
School Environment
Our school is located at the junction of Zhongli District, the entry point for the Taiwan High Speed Rail, and Dayuan District, and within the THSR zone and near THSR Taoyuan Station and metro station A18 at Taoyuan Airport. There are bus stops right at our school gate or busses to Zhongli and Dayuan, very convenient and safe for the children. In addition, the school is surrounded by the Taoyuan Museum of Art, Calligraphy Park, Qingpu Gardens, Qingsheng Temple, Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium, and many more resources.
Building Features
The design is inspired by the image of a “soaring, outstanding Qingpu”:
＊Children’s joy: curiosity and exploration of the world
＊Ideal: Give every dream wings
＊Soaring: let happiness and dreams fly as high as the sky
＊Paper planes: youth, future, science, poetry, happiness come together in paper planes
This manifests in the building as: folded roofs, arcades , a school gate with public art, a locally inspired color scheme of Qingpu green, THSR orange, Airport MRT purple, and aviation blue.
